College Board Sat Exam Online SAT Prep Online Tutoring Tutorpace SAT, also known as Scholastic Assessment test is a standardized test taken by high school students to gain admissions in colleges and universities in the United States. SAT is owned by the College Board and is taken by high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. SAT scores help a student be recognized during the admission process to get into a college as it shows the academic achievement of the student. SAT exam consists of 3 main sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing. There are sub-sections in each section and students are given a very limited time period to answer them. Therefore, time plays a very important role during the exam and students are expected to practice answering questions at home in a similar time limit. In the Critical reading section, students are given comprehension passages and then questions are followed based on the given passage. In order to get good score in this section, students must improve their vocabulary skills and should also have good knowledge about sentence structure, clauses, fragments, organization of sentences etc. The Mathematics section, also known as Quantitative or Calculation section, consists of 3 sub-sections which majorly contain multiple choice questions and few grid-in questions. The questions are asked in usual math topics like Algebra, Plane geometry, Coordinate geometry etc. The Writing section contains multiple choice questions as well as an essay for the students to write about. Therefore students should prepare accordingly for each section and must practice subject questions while preparing for the test.
